1. Fall Festival Donations
We are requesting donations of candy, snacks, and small toys for trick or treating at the Fall Festival. All candy must be peanut-free. Donations can be dropped off at the school anytime between now and October 23 – Thank you for your support!
2. Curriculum Night
Wednesday, October 28
6 – 8 p.m.
Join us for this BRAND NEW parent education event!
Have you ever wondered why your child is painting with trucks? Or how block play might prepare them for grade school? And why all the play dough?!
Teachers will be on hand to speak about play-based curriculum, what it looks like in their classrooms and specific age-level, and most importantly why our play-based, child-centered educational philosophy provides a wonderful foundation for our children as learners. We encourage all parents to attend and invite you to explore, question, and dig in to the why behind what we do every day at DCP! Experience a “day in the life” of a student both in your child’s classroom as well as other class/age levels.
As part of this evening we will be hosting a Group Discussion/Question & Answer session with all of our fabulous classroom teachers and our administrators!
The teaching staff at DCP are experts at recognizing the learning possibilities that unfold naturally in their classrooms through play. They work hard to facilitate and individualize these play experiences for deeper learning every day.
You get to help out in the classroom from time to time, but perhaps you find yourself wondering about the teaching and learning that is happening for your child from time to time (and that’s a good thing!)
Curriculum Night will be a great time to ask these questions, but if you would rather ask your question anonymously, there is a box in the front hallway at DCP where you can submit any questions for discussion during Curriculum Night. We will have time during our Question & Answer session to address these questions as well!
Curriculum Night will be an adults only event, and no child care will be offered.
