The Lunch Bunch program takes place from 11:30a-12:30p. Lunch Bunch gives children the opportunity to socialize with children from other classes. Children bring their lunch and are assigned to a Lunch Bunch teacher. Parents must sign up their children in advance for the program.
Lunch Bunch is open to children three and older and potty trained. Drop-in Lunch Bunch begins the second week of school. A lottery for permanent spots through December is held in September and the permanent schedule begins the first week of October. This process repeats in January for the second half of the year. Half of the spots are reserved for morning classes and the other half is available for afternoon classes. There are usually some drop-in spots held aside each day.
Lunch Bunch for 2/3s classes is held on a similar but more limited schedule. These younger children stay with a group of their peers in the classroom.
The cost of Lunch Bunch is $7.00 per session. Parents purchase a Lunch Bunch punch card for $35 for 5 Lunch Bunch attendances.
2012-2013 change: This was previously a separate add-on to the TTH 3/4s and Free Form Friday classes. Now those classes are planned as 4-hour classes and this time is automatically included.
This extended class time allows students to have the fun of lunch bunch with the opportunity for additional enrichment learning experiences. Learn ‘n’ Lunch (LL) students will bring a lunch and eat in the classroom with their teachers and classmates.
