Where did you grow up?: Denver

How long have you been working with children/teaching?: 25 plus years

What led you to a career in education?: I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. My grandmother was a teacher in the one room school house in Telluride Colorado in the early 1900’s.

What is your favorite thing about working at DCP?: I love working with the wonderful families and children of DCP. It is a place that values children and play.

What is your favorite thing to do in the classroom?: I love to set up the classroom in the morning and I’m always surprised with how the age appropriate activities are used and played with. It’s like creating magic in the classroom.

What are your hobbies or passions outside of DCP?: I love to be outside! Skiing, hiking and stand up paddle boarding

Where can we find you in Denver (favorite spots/hangouts/places to visit): I enjoy walking around Washington Park, hanging out at Barnes and Noble or Tattered Cover with my coconut chia latte.

Tell us about your family: I am married and have a son who is 21. He is studying at George Washington University and will be graduating this May in front of the Washington Monument.

What did you want to be when you grew up?: I wanted to be a teacher.

What do you remember most about being a young child?: I remember spending time outside playing with my neighbors. I felt safe and my community seemed small and friendly.

What was your favorite thing to do as a child?: I loved when my Dad would read to me. He did different voices for the characters in stories.
