What is the Auction?
It is DCP’s largest fundraiser of the year. This year our FUNraiser’s theme is “An Evening at the Moulin Rouge.” It is a ticketed event that will take place at the former Mattie’s House of Mirrors in Downtown Denver. There will be a live auction, a paddle raiser, door prizes and other contests to help us raise money for our school!
What is included in my ticket price?
A large percentage of your ticket will go directly towards our overall goal of $25,000. Without this money, we wouldn’t be able to pay our teacher’s salaries, keep our lights on, have specials in the classrooms like music and art, and much more. With the purchase of a ticket, you can expect dinner, drinks, dessert, music, dancing and an overall good time!
As a current family at DCP, what is expected of me this year?
In past years, families contributed a bottle of wine and a few donations for the auction (or a total value of at least $150). This year we need the following:
- First and foremost, to support our school! Throughout the next few months, the Auction Committee may call upon our community for help with specific donations. If you can help or contribute in any way, it would be greatly appreciated.
- Each DCP family will be responsible for contributing ONE bottle of wine for our wine cellar and various other packages. This year, in lieu of a bottle, you can also donate money to the wine cellar and the Prom Committee will purchase something for you. Joy Wine & Spirits has once again graciously offered to store the wine if purchased at their store and to guide you in the selection process. They will also donate 10% back to DCP on all wine purchases made at their store (at the corner of 6th and Marion).
- Each DCP family will also be required to procure ONE or MORE restaurant gift certificates. Any restaurant, any denomination will do.
Do I have to buy a restaurant gift certificate?
Absolutely not! You would be amazed at how willing businesses are to donate these certificates, especially to a non-profit such as DCP. It is also great advertising for the business and it helps a lot if it’s an establishment you frequent yourself. A sample procurement letter is available online and will also be included in your parent pocket.
When do tickets go on sale?
Look to buy your tickets beginning the week of February 6, 2012.
Can I tell alumni and friends about Moulin Rouge?
Absolutely! On average, DCP has had about 225 people attend our “Auction.” There have always been grandparents, friends and DCP Alumni at our largest fundraiser of the year.
What if I want to sponsor a ticket for someone else, can I do that?
Yes you can! When ticket orders are processed, there will be a section in which you can anonymously purchase an extra ticket(s).
What if I cannot make it to the event, but I want to donate money?
That is a great idea!!! We are all part of the DCP community and encouraged to help out in any way that we can! There will be a spot on the $$ donation page of the DCP website where individuals can donate any amount of money towards the school.
I have more questions, who can I ask?
