Liz Allen
Lead Educator, Geneva Classroom (she/her/hers)
Hi! My name is Liz, and this is my second year at Denver Cooperative Preschool as a Lead Educator. I’ve been working in early childhood education since 2017, and I’m passionate about creating environments where young children can grow, explore, and thrive. I also have the honor of serving as the staff representative on the Denver Cooperative Preschool governing board, where I help support the school’s mission and ensure the staff’s voice is heard in important decisions.
I hold an Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, and I’m currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Early Childhood Education. My education and experience have helped me develop a strong foundation in both child development and educational leadership. Before joining Denver Cooperative Preschool, I worked in various early learning settings, where I deepened my commitment to nurturing the whole child through play-based, child-centered learning.
I believe that young children learn best through play, hands-on experiences, and meaningful relationships. I am especially passionate about fostering child autonomy, encouraging children to make choices and take an active role in their own learning. I also deeply value the strong sense of community at Denver Cooperative Preschool, where families, staff, and children come together to support one another and create a warm, inclusive environment. My goal is to create a welcoming classroom where every child feels safe, supported, and excited to explore their unique journey.
When I’m not in the classroom, I love spending time outdoors and staying active. My favorite hobbies include camping, hiking, paddle boarding, and attending concerts. I also enjoy reading and spending quality time with my dog Bailey, who always keeps life fun and full of love.
I’m so excited to continue this journey with the wonderful families and staff at Denver Cooperative Preschool. Here’s to another great year of learning and growth!
