Choosing a preschool is a very personal and important decision. We highly encourage families to visit the school, speak with the staff and other families and observe one or all the classes that we offer before applying. Our annual Open House held each January is a wonderful opportunity to visit the school “off-hours.” Tours of the school can also be arranged during regular school hours by calling Janee McConnell at 303.777.6867.
There are two ways to apply to our school:
Annual Lottery
January 25-February 3, 2012
$60 Non-Refundable Fee
Admission and class placement for most students is determined by a Lottery held each year. Placement is for the school year starting the following September. Current students, siblings and alumni are given priority with room for new families in every age category/class.
Waitlist
February 15-December 31, 2012
$25 Non-Refundable Fee
For families who do not participate in the Lottery, Waitlist applications are accepted through the remainder of the calendar year. Your Waitlist application will be processed in the order it is received. We do fill from the Waitlist throughout the year.
Enrollment
Applying through the Lottery or Waitlist does not guarantee class placement. Once you apply, you will remain in our system as a prospective family through the end of the calendar year until you are offered a spot or ask to be removed. This process repeats each year. Once offered a spot, you need to confirm your enrollment to secure it.
More on EnrollmentScholarships and Tuition Assistance
Confidential scholarships are available based on family need. A significant amount of revenue raised through DCP fundraising events is set aside for this type of assistance.
Denver Cooperative Preschool is also part of the Denver Preschool Program, which provides a monthly tuition credit to qualified families who have a child in his or her last year of preschool before being age eligible for kindergarten.
